About the Creator

Near the start of his college studies, the creator of this mastermind—Michael Hogue—realized that he could get his bachelors degree in two years instead of four.  The community college where he was enrolled had a maximum credit limit, so to offset that, he enrolled at a second community college while simultaneously attending a university. That was the semester in which he earned 32 college credits while maintaining a 3.92 GPA.

Michael went on to earn a state-recognized PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology and subsequently passed the EPPP licensing exam with a strong score. He also attended Harvard Extension School for two years. While there, he received the rare and highly sought-after invitation to apply as a teaching fellow for Harvard's acclaimed CS50 course because he was among the class's top performers. He also received an invitation to meet with an instructor one-on-one to critique his teaching, as the highest performer in the class. He also earned a two-year postdoctoral diploma in Functional Neurology from the renowned Carrick Institute. Later, he worked for three years at Purdue Global University, where he received stellar reviews from students and other faculty and was accordingly granted opportunities not normally offered to adjuncts.  This included serving as a subject matter expert, acting as the course lead, participating in course creation, and teaching a total of 12 distinct classes.

These experiences instilled in Michael an uncommon comprehension of higher education, both as a student and a professor. Michael's students would often write comments in their after-course anonymous surveys such as, "This class has impacted me both personally and professionally. I will be forever a changed and better person because of it," or "This is the best class I have taken out of all the classes I have ever taken." These are just two of dozens of similar comments.

Michael learned about Purdue Global University's ExcelTrack program and completed a total of 60 credits in one quarter, and made the Dean's List.

Michael believes his success has less to do with raw smarts and much more to do with strategy and mindset. He also coached his 14 year-old son to use the same strategy which allowed his son to earn 27 credits during his first 6 months as a college student.
